DAY 11 AT THE OLYMPICS: PAKISTAN MEDAL HOPES KEPT ALIVE FOR ONCE AND ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW

 


We are back again with another day of Olympics news, it is DAY 11 and for once, we have some good Pakistani news. Arshad Nadeem has made it through to the final of Men’s Javelin Throw and other news regarding the battle for the top spot in the Medal Table of Paris 2024, so let’s get straight into the action!

BELOVED NATION’S MEDAL HOPES LIVE TO FIGHT ANOTHER DAY

Arshad Nadeem is the last of the 7 athletes of Pakistan to feature and certainly the one with whom the most hope for a medal is associated. With 6 gone, he is the last medal hope for Pakistan as 24 Crore people cheer on the guy who was born and raised in a small village of Punjab. He was expected to tightly make it through a tough group in which he was put to, featuring the likes of Neeraj Chopra, the current Olympic Champion and Anderson Peters, the current World Record holder and Commonwealth Games silver medalist. While he didn’t make it through that way, he absolutely aced his first throw, pushing the javelin with force to a distance of 86.59 meters which was second to only Neeraj Chopra but soon, was shuffled down to Third as Anderson Peters joined the show. Regardless, Arshad Nadeem comfortably makes it through to the Final planned on Thursday night.

ATHLETICS STEAL THE SHOW

In the Women’s Hammer throw, Canada earned gold over the US and China after setting a record. Talking of records, the US set an Olympic record, winning gold on the way in the Women’s 1500m Final. The US also earned Gold and Bronze sandwiching Bahamas athlete in between In the Women’s 200m final. The athletics action just doesn’t stop, does it? Bahrain earned gold over the two African athletes of Kenya in the Women’s 3000m steeplechase. Finally, Greece also earned their first gold of the Olympic games over Italy and Jamaica in the Men’s Long Jump Final.

OTHER IMPORTANT SPORTS

There are several other sports that you might have missed on DAY 11 and we have you covered! Ireland won women’s gold over China in the final. USA won surfing gold once again, this time in the Women’s version over Brazil. Australia beat Japan and Great Britain to gold in the Women’s skateboarding final. USA also won wrestling gold over Kyrgyzstan, yes Kyrgyzstan!

There has been a big change in the medal table as USA have taken the lead over China and they do now look like the favorites.
