DAY 6 AT THE OLYMPICS: ATHLETICS MAKE DEBUT AND ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW

 


We are back with Day 6 at the Paris Olympics 2024 and there were some incredible events today. If you missed action, here is all you need to know!

Athletics: A Test of Endurance

The day began with the challenging Men's and Women's 20km Race Walks. J. Pintado from Ecuador, yes Ecuador! He emerged victorious in the Men's event, demonstrating exceptional endurance and technique. C. Bonfim from Brazil and Alvaro Martin from Spain completed the podium. In the Women's race, Yang Jiayu from China showcased incredible determination to claim the gold medal, with Maria Perez from Spain and Jemima Montag from Australia following closely behind.

Precision and Focus in Shooting

The Men's 50m Rifle Three Positions final tested athletes' versatility and accuracy. Liu Yukun from China demonstrated exceptional skill and composure to secure the gold medal. Serhiy Kulish from Ukraine and Swapnil Kusale from India joined him on the podium.

Rowing Powerhouse

The rowing events showcased the power and synchronization of teams. In the Men's Double Sculls, the duo from Romania dominated the race, claiming the gold medal. Netherlands and Ireland secured the remaining medals. The Women's Double Sculls final was equally competitive, with New Zealand emerging victorious. Romania and Great Britain completed the podium.

Canoe Slalom Thrills

The Men's Canoe Slalom final was a test of speed and precision. De Cannaro from Italy navigated the course flawlessly to claim the gold medal. Castryk from hosts France and Echainz from Spain showcased their skills to secure the remaining medals.

 

Gymnastics: A Showcase of Talent

The Women's Artistic Gymnastics final was a breathtaking display of athleticism and grace. S. Biles from USA captivated the audience with her flawless performance, securing the gold medal. Andrade from Brazil and S. Lee from USA delivered impressive routines to round out the podium.
