THANK YOU PARIS!

The Paris Olympics 2024 are done, and if you missed everything or you just want to have a review of the games, you are at the right place. Let’s start without any time wastage.

MILLIONS UNITED, SPORT HATERS TURNED INTO SPORT LOVERS

Would somebody have imagined millions to not turn out at the Olympic games? Of course not, but the way it was done was simply insane. Already the audience at the opening ceremony was a record 28.9 million viewers, the most since London 2012 Olympic games. It was now time for the games to start, records were to be broken, hearts were to be won and emotions were about to come out and THAT IS WHAT MAKES THEM SPECIAL. These games were the most high risk of the Olympics history believe it or not, but at the same time, the fun began. Boxing, Shooting and several other medals went up for grabs on a fiery and full of action Day 1. The first gold medal at the Paris games, was won by China in the mixed team rifle shooting and the first overall medal was bronze earned by Kazakhstan in the same event.

CHINA WITH THE EARLY LEAD

What to wait for then? 10500 athletes at the Olympic games started gunning for gold, some failed and returned home in disappointment, some proudly won medals holding their heads high while some lost but prepared for some upcoming event of theirs. China took a hefty lead of almost 10 gold medals at the top and famously won every single gold medal available in diving. USA started with bronze and silvers with big guns flopping at big times but like I said, THAT IS WHAT MAKES THEM SPECIAL. Of course, how can we forget the great duo of Korea and Archery, we can’t. Korea won almost every medal available in archery but the way it was done was simply sensational. 10 after 10 after 10 and 10 again, this duo is special. By the time day 5 concluded, China had a healthy 7 medal lead the top with Korea second and America seventh. To be witnessed next? Once in a lifetime things.

A COMEBACK FOR THE AGES

The Olympic games are more of an individual event than a team competition in the medal table, but still everyone watched on. Trailing by 7 Gold medals by Day 5, athletics started and oh did they bring a vibe. Americans started winning gold after gold and eventually found themselves level on medals come the last event of the games. In the absolute last possible moment, USA beat France in women’s basketball for gold to leapfrog China and win the Olympic games. Talking of China, they were pretty good in the final days too, but they couldn’t bag Gold when it mattered but once again, THAT IS WHAT MAKES THEM SPECIAL.

THE OLYMPIC SPIRIT LIVES ON

The Paris Olympics are over but the Olympic spirit lives on and on……… “YOUR MISSION, SHOULD YOU CHOOSE TO ACCEPT IT, IS TO BRING THE OLYMPIC FLAG TO LOS ANGELES.” The mission has been indeed accepted and Tom Cruise is on his way to Los Angeles. As we bid farewell to the Paris Olympics, the flag is handed over to the USA, the next host of the games. It has to be said the Closing ceremony was an emotional moment for sensitive sport watchers and a moment to appreciate the games and all the hard work done by everyone for strong sport watchers. Fair to say, it was a proper Parisian Party to weave goodbye to an entertaining 20 days and looking forward to a spine-tingling tradition of waiting 4 years until Los Angeles. Time for wait now! Wait for another 1257 days but the wait would be gladly worth it. That’s all we have from the Paris Olympic Games 2024 then, thanks for reading.
